This holiday season, I’m grateful for more than just the usual festivities. I’m thankful for the gift of the opportunity to own a short-term rental. It provides the opportunity to start a new family tradition after a loss. It’s become a tradition for my mom, aunt, and cousin to visit Whales-Tale and celebrate our family's most cherished member, Imogene Francis Brown. She was the matriarch of our large family and meant the world to all of us. We five would often be together, getting into mischief while she was alive. After her passing, the four of us needed a place to think of her, so we headed for the beach.
It's become a traditional trip to celebrate my grandmother and reminisce about the good old days. There is lots of laughter, crying, and laughing until you cry. We’ll share stories and walk down memory lane while having Hot Chocolate on the decks and watching the ocean waves.
Our short-term rental offers the perfect blend of privacy and convenience. It’s a place where we can truly unwind and enjoy each other’s company without the distractions of everyday life. We can cook favorite foods, bake holiday cookies together, play games, and simply relax.
Beyond the personal benefits, owning a short-term rental has also allowed me to share the joy of travel with others. I’ve hosted families, couples, and travelers from all over the world. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that our home has also contributed to creating special moments for so many other families.
As the holiday season unfolds, I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunity to own a short-term rental. It’s not just a property; it’s a gift that keeps on giving.
